PT Daimler Commercial Vehicles Manufacturing Indonesia (DCVMI) and PT Daimler Commercial Vehicles Indonesia (DCVI) have delivered the first Mercedes-Benz bus for export. The Mercedes-Benz OH 1626 L Euro 5 bus features a Legacy SR3 Neo Panorama body, built by PT Laksana Bus Manufaktur. The bus was delivered from DCVMI’s assembly plant in Cikarang, West Java.
"This launch shows that Indonesia is ready to deliver complete bus solutions that meet strict European and regional safety standards. At our Cikarang facility, we do more than assemble vehicles. We also build trust in Indonesia’s manufacturing capabilities. Last year, we confirmed our export strategy. Today, we are turning that strategy into action. This export to Thailand shows our long-term focus on quality, safety, and sustainable growth in the ASEAN region,” said Shravana T. Kumar, President Director of PT DCVMI, in a statement released by PT DCVI on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
This delivery marks the first export of a Mercedes-Benz bus fully assembled in Indonesia to Thailand. The bus combines Mercedes-Benz chassis technology with European safety and emission standards and complies with local regulations in the ASEAN market.
The export also highlights the close cooperation between DCVMI and the Indonesian bus body industry in delivering export-ready solutions for the region.
The Mercedes-Benz OH 1626 L Euro 5 chassis includes key safety features such as a standard anti-lock braking system (ABS), a rear-mounted engine for better vehicle balance, and a strong chassis frame designed for durability and structural strength.

PT Laksana Bus Manufaktur ensures high safety standards for the bus body and passenger area. These include UNECE R66 for rollover protection, UNECE R118 for fire-resistant interior materials, and ECE R43 for certified glass. The bus also meets UNECE R80 for seat mounting strength, UNECE R14 for seat belts, and Thai regulations for emergency exits. In addition, Laksana developed new headlights to improve visibility and safety, specifically for the export market.
