Busworld Southeast Asia

Busworld Southeast Asia 2026 brings ASEAN bus industry together in Jakarta

From 20 to 22 May 2026, the 4th edition of Busworld Southeast Asia will take place at Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo Kemayoran), in one of the largest and most dynamic bus markets in Asia.

Indonesia plays a key role in the regional industry, with a strong local manufacturing base and a unique ecosystem of bus body builders working closely with international chassis brands.

Strong presence of Indonesian body builders

The 2026 edition stands out with an exceptional participation of Indonesia’s leading body builders. Companies such as Adi Putro, Laksana, Tentrem and New Armada will be present for the fourth consecutive edition, together representing around 80% of the local market.

They are joined by Piala Mas, participating for the first time at Busworld Southeast Asia, further strengthening the presence of Indonesia’s top manufacturers on one platform.

Their combined presence reflects the strength and maturity of the Indonesian bus industry, where local companies play a dominant role in vehicle production and design, while working closely with global chassis suppliers.

In addition to local players, international bus manufacturers such as Golden Dragon will also be present, underlining the growing global interest in the Southeast Asian market.

From vehicles to full ecosystem

Visitors can expect a complete overview of the bus and coach industry. The exhibition will present:

  • City buses, intercity buses and tourism coaches
  • Premium and luxury vehicles
  • Electric buses and future mobility solutions
  • Components, interiors and safety systems
  • Digital tools such as fleet management and smart transport technologies

This mix reflects the reality of the ASEAN market: a fast-growing region where affordability, innovation and operational efficiency must go hand in hand.

Conference with ASEAN focus and high-level speakers

Alongside the exhibition, the Busworld Southeast Asia Conference will bring together policymakers, operators, manufacturers and experts from across the ASEAN region.

The programme includes high-level speakers from ASEAN governments, transport authorities and industry leaders, as well as a strong attendance from regional stakeholders. This creates a platform not only for knowledge sharing, but also for real dialogue between public and private players.

The conference opens with a strategic session on ASEAN’s position in the global bus market and the transition towards clean, smart and connected buses.

A strong focus is placed on electrification, with sessions on charging infrastructure, urban bus policy and real-life implementation in Jakarta. Authorities, operators and international organisations will share practical insights and challenges.

Safety is another key topic, with discussions on how ASEAN can align with global standards, including input from regulators and leading Indonesian manufacturers.

The second day highlights the international ambitions of Southeast Asian body builders, alongside sessions on intercity transport, digitalisation and multimodal integration.

The programme closes with a high-level panel on the future of public transport in Jakarta, linking mobility development to the city’s long-term vision.

A strategic meeting place for ASEAN mobility

By bringing together manufacturers, suppliers, operators and public stakeholders, Busworld Southeast Asia 2026 confirms its role as a key meeting place for the bus and coach industry in the region.
