Who we are
In an effort to realize a more integrated and efficient national transportation system, the Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Transportation, established the Directorate General of Transport and Multimodal Integration (Ditjen Intram). The establishment of Ditjen Intram is a strategic step toward aligning various modes of transportation to improve national connectivity and accelerate logistics distribution as well as public mobility.
The establishment of Ditjen Intram is based on the understanding that Indonesia’s transportation system, which has remained sectoral and fragmented, requires more integrated and systematic cross-modal coordination. Challenges such as suboptimal logistics distribution, unequal interregional connectivity, and unsynchronized transportation infrastructure have highlighted the need for a new institution with a specific mandate in transportation integration and multimodal systems.
With the establishment of Ditjen Intram, it is expected that Indonesia’s transportation system will move toward comprehensive integration that supports equitable development, accelerates mobility, and responds more effectively to the needs of both the public and the business sector.
